The limited-edition Tamiya Volvo FH16 Globetrotter 750 8x4 Tow Truck Silver Edition is a highly detailed 1/14 scale RC assembly kit recreating Volvo's imposing heavy-recovery vehicle. Based on the FH Series introduced in 2012, the model captures the distinctive FH16 Globetrotter 750 cab, four-axle 8x4 chassis and elaborate towing equipment with exceptional mechanical and scale realism.

The ABS cab and body components are factory finished in silver with a durable gloss urethane topcoat, reducing the amount of body painting required during assembly. Detailed elements include a stainless-steel photo-etched front grille, opening cab doors, a realistic interior, plated roof accessories and a functional tow-truck body with manually adjustable recovery equipment.

A front-mounted Tamiya TR Mighty-Tuned 35T motor drives both rear axles through a three-speed transmission. When assembled with the required radio equipment, gear changes can be controlled from the transmitter for realistic low-speed towing and on-road operation.

FAQ

Is this a ready-to-run RC truck? No. This is an unassembled model kit that requires construction, RC electronics, a battery, charger and additional modelling supplies before operation.

Is the body already painted? The main ABS cab and body components are factory painted silver and protected by a gloss urethane topcoat. Smaller details, including areas such as the window frames, still require finishing during assembly.

Is the model 1/10 or 1/14 scale? This truck is 1/14 scale. References describing it as a 1/10 scale model are incorrect.

Does the kit include a motor? Yes. A Tamiya TR Mighty-Tuned 35-turn brushed motor is included.

Are the radio system and servos included? No. A compatible four-channel radio system and two servos are required separately.

Can the transmission be shifted from the transmitter? Yes. When correctly assembled with a suitable four-channel radio system and shift servo, the three-speed transmission can be operated from the transmitter.

Are the towing functions radio controlled? The standard winch boom, underlift and outriggers are manually operated. The separately available Tamiya 56553 Electric Actuator Set allows selected lifting functions to be controlled electronically.

What does the optional MFC-03 add? The Tamiya MFC-03 can add synchronised engine sounds, gear-change sounds, lighting, vibration and other operational effects. Additional LEDs may be required for some lighting functions.

Can it tow other Tamiya RC trucks? The model is designed to tow compatible 1/14 scale Tamiya tractor trucks when properly assembled, equipped and operated on a suitable surface.
