The rear-wheel-drive TD2 chassis places the motor transversely at the centre and the battery across the rear of the chassis to support balanced handling and rear-wheel traction. FAQ

Is the Tamiya Astute 2022 ready to run? No. The Astute 2022 is an assembly kit that requires construction, body finishing and installation of separately purchased electronics.

What is required to complete the Astute 2022? A two-channel transmitter and receiver, compatible low-profile steering servo, Type 540 motor, matching electronic speed controller, 7.2–7.4-volt battery, charger and transmitter batteries are required separately.

Can a standard-size steering servo be used? No. The TD2 chassis requires a compatible low-profile steering servo. OZRC recommends checking the servo dimensions before purchase.

Does the body come painted? No. The clear polycarbonate body requires painting and finishing. Use paint made specifically for polycarbonate, such as the Tamiya PS range.
