The ARRMA GRANITE 223S BLX V4 is a ready-to-run 1/10 scale brushless RC monster truck for drivers who want beginner-friendly control with the option to progress to powerful 3S performance.
Install a compatible 2S hardcase LiPo battery for more manageable performance and speeds exceeding 56km/h, then move to a 3S battery to unlock its 80km/h-plus potential. The included Spektrum SLT3 transmitter offers selectable 50%, 75% and 100% throttle limits, allowing the truck’s performance to be matched to the driver’s experience.
Spektrum Dynamic Stability Control provides four selectable assistance modes to help maintain direction on loose or slippery surfaces. A heavy-duty 4X4 drivetrain, metal-gear centre differential, independent suspension and adjustable oil-filled shocks prepare the GRANITE for dirt, gravel, short grass, jumps and general off-road bashing.

FAQ
Does the ARRMA GRANITE 223S include a battery and charger? No. The truck includes its radio equipment and four AA transmitter batteries, but the main 2S or 3S LiPo battery and charger are sold separately.
What does 223S mean? The 223S power system supports both 2S and 3S LiPo batteries. Drivers can begin with manageable 2S power and progress to 3S without replacing the motor or speed controller.
How fast is the GRANITE 223S? ARRMA advertises speeds exceeding 35mph, or approximately 56km/h, on 2S and more than 50mph, or approximately 80km/h, on 3S. Actual speed varies with battery performance, terrain, temperature and vehicle condition.
Should a beginner use a 2S or 3S battery? A 2S battery is generally the better starting option. Combining 2S power with the transmitter’s 50% throttle setting makes the truck easier to control while the driver develops steering and braking skills.
What does the throttle limiter do? The SLT3 transmitter can restrict maximum throttle to 50% or 75%. Selecting 100% provides the full available output from the installed battery.
What is Dynamic Stability Control? DSC makes automatic steering corrections to help the truck maintain its intended direction on loose or slippery surfaces. The driver remains responsible for steering and throttle.
Can Dynamic Stability Control be switched off? Yes. The system provides four selectable modes, including an off setting for unassisted driving.
What size battery fits the GRANITE? Use a suitable hardcase 2S or 3S LiPo battery no larger than 139mm × 51mm × 48mm. Confirm the battery dimensions and connector before ordering.
Can a softcase LiPo battery be used? ARRMA specifies a hardcase LiPo battery. Its rigid outer casing provides additional physical protection during impacts and off-road operation.
Can the GRANITE use a 4S battery? No. The installed 223S electronics are rated for a maximum of 3S LiPo power.
Can it reach 50mph using a 2S battery? No. ARRMA rates the truck for 35mph-plus on 2S. The 50mph-plus claim requires a suitable 3S LiPo battery.
Does this model use a slipper clutch? The GRANITE 223S V4 uses an easy-to-remove all-metal centre differential rather than a conventional centre slipper assembly.
Can the GRANITE be driven on grass? It is suitable for short, dry grass. Long or thick grass creates considerably more resistance and can quickly increase motor, ESC and battery temperatures.
Are the installed electronics waterproof? The ESC and receiver unit and steering servo are described as waterproof. The truck should not be submerged and must be cleaned and dried after wet or muddy use.
What regular maintenance is required? Inspect the wheel nuts, tyres, suspension, driveshafts and chassis after each session. Remove trapped grass, stones and dirt, and allow the motor, ESC and battery to cool before another run.
Important Notes
- The main drive battery and charger are not included.
- Four AA batteries for the transmitter are included.
- Use one compatible 2S or 3S hardcase LiPo battery with an IC5 connector.
- Confirm that the battery fits within the 139mm × 51mm × 48mm tray before purchase.
- Do not install a 4S battery; the electronics are rated for a maximum of 3S LiPo power.
- The 35mph-plus speed claim applies to operation with a suitable 2S LiPo battery.
- The 50mph-plus speed claim requires a suitable 3S LiPo battery and appropriate running conditions.
- Beginner drivers should start with 2S power and the transmitter’s 50% throttle setting.
- DSC can improve stability but cannot prevent every rollover, collision or loss of control.
- Use a LiPo balance charger suitable for the selected battery’s cell count and connector.
- Never charge a LiPo battery unattended.
- Charge batteries on a non-flammable surface or inside a suitable LiPo charging container.
- Do not use or charge a swollen, damaged, punctured or excessively hot LiPo battery.
- Allow the battery, motor and ESC to cool between demanding runs.
- Monitor temperatures when driving through grass, in hot weather or during repeated full-throttle acceleration.
- Inspect the tyres and wheel nuts before every high-speed session.
- Operate in a clear area away from people, animals, roads, vehicles and fragile property.
- Water-resistant construction does not make the truck suitable for submersion.
- Clean and dry the truck after wet, dusty or muddy operation.
- Avoid salt water because it can rapidly corrode bearings, hardware and electrical connections.
- Manufacturer warranty coverage is subject to applicable regional terms and conditions.
