FAQ

Is the Axial SCX24 Dodge Power Wagon completely Ready-to-Run? Yes. Axial includes the assembled crawler, Spektrum SLT2 transmitter, 350mAh 2S LiPo battery, USB charger and four AA transmitter batteries. No additional equipment is required before your first run.

Does the Power Wagon have a hard body? Yes. Unlike many lightweight lexan-bodied crawlers, this version uses a detailed moulded ABS four-door Dodge Power Wagon hard body for increased scale realism.

What is special about the oil-filled shocks? Oil-filled shocks damp suspension movement rather than allowing the chassis to bounce freely over obstacles. This provides smoother, more controlled crawling behaviour, particularly during descents and side-hill driving.

What tyres are included? The Power Wagon comes fitted with Pro-Line Interco Super Swamper tyres. Their aggressive tread provides excellent grip on rocks, dirt and mixed trail surfaces.

Are the Pro-Line wheels actual beadlocks? The truck uses Pro-Line Impulse Bead-Loc-style crawler wheels. They contribute to the scale appearance and allow the factory tyre setup to match the Power Wagon's off-road theme.

Can it be driven indoors? Yes. The small 1/24 scale size makes the SCX24 excellent for improvised indoor crawling courses using books, timber, furniture-safe obstacles and purpose-built desktop terrain.

Is it suitable for outdoor trails? Yes. The 4WD drivetrain, worm-gear axles, Super Swamper tyres and 37mm of ground clearance make it capable on appropriately scaled rocks, dirt and outdoor trail obstacles.

What battery does it use? The included pack is a Spektrum 7.4V 350mAh 2S LiPo battery using a PH 2.0 high-current ultra-micro connector.

Can the SCX24 be upgraded? Yes. The SCX24 platform has extensive aftermarket support covering wheels, tyres, servos, motors, gears, suspension links, chassis parts and drivetrain components, making it a popular platform for custom crawler builds.

Are oil-filled shocks worth having on an SCX24? They are a useful factory upgrade because damping can reduce the bouncing and uncontrolled suspension movement common with undamped micro-crawler shocks. Community feedback also tends to favour correctly set-up oil shocks for smoother technical crawling rather than simply fitting the longest possible shock.

Important Notes

  • This listing is for AXI00007T1.
  • The complete RTR package includes battery, charger and transmitter batteries.
  • Use only a suitable 2S LiPo-compatible charger with the supplied battery.
  • Never leave LiPo batteries unattended while charging.
  • Follow correct LiPo charging, storage and transport procedures.
  • Although the electronics are water-resistant, the vehicle should be cleaned and dried after use in damp conditions.
  • Do not assume the vehicle is designed for prolonged submersion.
  • Inspect wheel hardware, steering links and driveline components regularly.
  • The ABS hard body and overlanding accessories add scale realism but also place more weight higher on the chassis than minimalist competition-style bodies.
  • Aftermarket upgrades can change suspension geometry, drivetrain load and centre of gravity, so modify progressively and test after each change.
