The Axial UTB10 Capra 1.9 4WS is a serious 1/10 scale RC rock crawler engineered for technical trails, steep climbs and challenging obstacles. Finished in orange, AXI-1543T1 combines true four-wheel steering, Currie F9 portal axles, revised low-ratio transmission gearing and premium Pro-Line wheels and tyres to deliver outstanding manoeuvrability and crawling capability straight from the box.

The updated transmission features substantially lower gearing for improved climbing control, while front and rear steering axles let the Capra manoeuvre through tight lines that conventional front-steer crawlers can struggle to negotiate. Stainless steel suspension links, aluminium oil-filled shocks and metal axle universals provide a durable foundation for demanding crawling.

Factory-installed Spektrum electronics include dual S683 waterproof metal-gear steering servos, a Firma 40A waterproof brushed ESC, SR515 DSMR 5-channel receiver and DX3 transmitter. Simply add your choice of compatible 2S or 3S LiPo battery and charger.

FAQ

What is the advantage of four-wheel steering? Four-wheel steering gives the Capra significantly more manoeuvrability than a conventional front-steer crawler. Rear steering can help tighten the turning radius, reposition the rear axle around obstacles and line up the tyres more precisely on technical crawling sections.

Can I control how much the rear wheels steer? Yes. The supplied Spektrum DX3 provides dedicated rear-steering control. The rear axle can be positioned straight or steered through 50% and 100% positions to the left or right, giving the driver considerably more control when negotiating difficult lines.

Does the Capra have portal axles? Yes. It uses officially licensed Currie F9 portal axles. Portal gearing places the axle housing higher relative to the wheel centres, providing additional clearance underneath the differentials.

What is different about the transmission on this UTB10 Capra? This version receives revised lower transmission gearing specifically aimed at crawling performance. The final drive ratio is 45.37:1, giving the vehicle increased mechanical reduction for controlled climbing and technical low-speed driving.

Can I run a 3S LiPo battery? Yes. Axial specifies compatibility with both 2S and 3S LiPo batteries. A suitable battery with an IC3 or compatible EC3 connection and an appropriate LiPo charger are required separately.

Does a battery come with AXI-1543T1? No. The Capra is supplied RTR with its radio and electronics installed, but the drive battery and charger are sold separately.

What tyres are fitted from the factory? Axial equips the UTB10 with licensed Pro-Line OE Mickey Thompson Baja Pro X soft-compound crawler tyres. Dual-stage foam inserts combine a softer outer section for traction with firmer inner support for stability.

Are both steering servos metal gear? Yes. Two Spektrum S683 25T waterproof metal-gear steering servos are installed, with one controlling each steering axle.

Is the Capra suitable for general high-speed bashing? The UTB10 Capra is primarily engineered as a technical rock crawler and trail buggy. Its low gearing, portal axles and four-wheel steering prioritise climbing ability, manoeuvrability and low-speed control rather than outright speed.

My steering binds at maximum lock. What should I check? Community discussions around the UTB10 highlight steering endpoints as an important setup consideration. Excessive servo travel can force the steering universals or linkage against their mechanical limits. Check for physical binding and confirm steering setup before repeatedly operating the servos at full lock.
