The Kyosho Fazer D2 is a 1/10 scale rear-wheel-drive RC drift chassis kit designed for enthusiasts who want to build a customised drift car with their preferred body, electronics, motor, wheels and tyres. Based on Kyosho's Fazer D2 Readyset platform, the chassis kit adds performance-focused components and extensive adjustment for competitive-style RWD drifting.
The Fazer D2 uses a high-mounted motor layout, long-span suspension and large-angle front steering geometry developed specifically for rear-wheel-drive drift control. Adjustable wheelbase, rear track width, camber, toe and caster settings allow the chassis to be tuned for different bodies, track conditions and driving styles.
Unlike the Readyset version, the 34551 chassis kit includes aluminium oil-filled shocks, a steel rear spool cup, machine screws and full ball bearings as standard. The motor can also be mounted in forward or rearward positions to alter chassis balance and rear traction.
Features

- Large Steering Angle: Front suspension geometry provides the steering range required for RWD drifting
- Adjustable Front Toe: Turnbuckle steering links provide precise toe setting
- Adjustable Caster: Front caster angle can be tuned to alter steering response and drift behaviour
- Adjustable Rear Camber: Turnbuckle upper arms allow quick rear camber adjustment
- Aluminium Oil-Filled Shocks: Previously optional aluminium dampers are included as standard on the chassis kit
- Threaded Shock Adjustment: Dial-type spring collars make ride-height and preload changes straightforward
- Optional Shock Pistons Included: Provides additional damping setup options
- Adjustable Motor Position: Motor can be mounted forward for balanced handling or rearward to increase rear traction
- High-Mounted Motor Layout: Purpose-developed configuration supports RWD drift handling characteristics
- Steel Rear Spool Cup: Stronger steel component replaces the resin spool cup used in the Readyset
- Rear Spool: Standard solid rear axle provides direct drive without differential action
- Differential Upgrade Ready: Compatible with optional gear and ball differential configurations
- Universal Swing Shafts: High-efficiency driveshafts are fitted as standard
- Full Ball Bearings: Uses 22 bearings throughout the drivetrain and steering system
- Aluminium Steering Crank Pins: Provide precise and direct steering operation
- Machine Screw Construction: Uses machine screws in place of the tapping screws fitted to the Readyset chassis
- Multi-Fit Battery Holder: Accommodates a range of conventional and shorty-style RC battery packs
- Stealth Body Mounts: Front and rear hidden-style mounts allow a clean body appearance without exposed posts
- Conventional Body Mounts Included: Standard body posts and clip-style mounts are also supplied

FAQ
Is the Kyosho Fazer D2 34551 Ready-to-Run? No. The 34551 is an unassembled chassis kit without a body or RC electronics. A motor, ESC, steering servo, drift gyro, radio system, battery, charger, wheels, tyres and body are required separately.
Is the Fazer D2 four-wheel drive? No. The Fazer D2 is a purpose-built rear-wheel-drive drift chassis. Only the rear wheels are driven, allowing the counter-steering behaviour associated with modern RWD RC drifting.
What wheelbase bodies fit the Fazer D2? The chassis wheelbase is adjustable from approximately 240mm to 274mm. Kyosho recommends bodies in the approximately 260–273mm wheelbase range for normal installations.
Can the motor position be changed? Yes. The motor can be installed in a forward position for more balanced handling or moved rearward to increase rear traction, giving the driver another way to tune the chassis.
Does the Fazer D2 chassis kit include oil shocks? Yes. Aluminium oil-filled shocks that were optional on the Readyset are included as standard with the chassis kit.
Does it have a differential? The standard rear drivetrain uses a spool, which locks both rear outputs together with no differential action. Optional gear or ball differentials can be fitted for alternative handling characteristics.
Can I use hidden body mounts? Yes. Stealth-style front and rear body mounts are included for a clean appearance without exposed body posts. Conventional body posts and clip mounts are also supplied.
What wheels should I use? Kyosho recommends standard drift wheels with approximately 5mm offset. Final fitment depends on the chosen body width and rear track setting.
Can shorty LiPo batteries fit? The multi-fit battery holder is designed to accommodate a range of RC battery formats, including conventional cylindrical packs and rectangular shorty-style packs. Always check the physical dimensions and electrical compatibility of the selected battery and electronics.
Important Notes
- This is an unassembled chassis kit and not a Readyset
- Body, motor, ESC, radio system, steering servo, drift gyro, battery, charger, wheels and tyres are not included
- Kyosho recommends approximately 5mm offset wheels as a starting point
- Wheel and tyre fitment must be matched to the selected body width and chassis track setting
- When increasing rear track width, alternative compatible universal shafts may be required
- Check motor, ESC and battery compatibility before installation
- A dedicated drift gyro is required for normal RWD drift operation
- Correct steering geometry, gyro setup and servo endpoints are important for reliable RWD drift performance
