FAQ
Does Amethyst Purple Pearl need a backing colour? Yes, the paint is highly translucent and Spaz Stix recommends applying several light coats before backing it with a solid colour to create the final pearl effect
What colour should I use behind Amethyst Purple Pearl? Spaz Stix recommends black for a dark deep finish or white for a brighter classic pearl appearance, while other solid colours can be used for custom effects
Does SZX16010 need to be thinned before airbrushing? No, it is supplied pre-thinned and ready to pour directly into an airbrush
Can this paint be used on the outside of an RC body? Yes, but for external applications Spaz Stix recommends applying the backing colour first as a base coat and then protecting the finished pearl layer with a suitable clear coat
Important Notes
- Apply several light even coats and allow each coat to dry before applying the backing colour
- Do not apply heavy coats because runs can create an uneven pearl finish
- For normal clear polycarbonate RC bodies apply the pearl colour from the inside and then apply the backing colour
- Test compatibility before use on materials other than polycarbonate
- External applications require a suitable protective clear coat for durability and gloss
