FAQ
Why does the paint appear transparent when sprayed? Candy Blue is intentionally translucent. The colour develops gradually with each light coat and reaches its full appearance once a backing colour is applied.
Which backing colour should I use? White produces the brightest blue with the least depth. Silver creates a bright, rich finish, while Metallic Silver adds sparkle and depth. Gold produces a darker finish, and Ultimate Mirror Chrome creates a unique coloured-chrome effect.
How many coats should I apply? Apply several light, even coats until the desired colour intensity is achieved. Avoid heavy coats, as runs or pooling can affect the final finish.
Can this paint be used on the outside of a body or other surfaces? Yes. For external applications, apply the backing colour first as a base coat, followed by the Candy Blue paint and a compatible clear coat for protection and a high-gloss finish.
Important Notes
- A backing colour is required to achieve the intended candy finish.
- Apply several light, even coats and allow adequate drying time between coats.
- Do not apply heavy coats, as runs may cause uneven colour intensity.
- Apply paint to the inside of clear polycarbonate bodies unless completing an external paint application.
- When using Ultimate Mirror Chrome as a backer, follow the specific application instructions for that product.
- For external applications, finish with a compatible clear coat such as Spaz Stix SZX90109.
- Test compatibility before applying to materials other than polycarbonate.
- Use in a well-ventilated area and follow all safety instructions printed on the aerosol can.
