FAQ

Why does the paint appear transparent? Fluorescent paints are translucent and are designed to build colour gradually. Apply several light coats until an even finish is achieved before applying the required backing colour.

Which backing colour should I use? Spaz Stix Solid White Backer (SZX00200 or SZX00209) is required to achieve the brightest, most vibrant Purple fluorescent finish.

Do I need to thin this paint before airbrushing? No. The paint is supplied pre-thinned and is ready to pour directly into your airbrush.

Can I apply heavy coats to finish faster? No. Heavy coats can cause runs, cracking and an uneven finish. Multiple light coats produce the best colour intensity and smoothest result.

Can this paint be used on surfaces other than polycarbonate? Yes. For external applications, apply the Solid White Backer first as the base coat, followed by the Fluorescent Purple, then protect the finish with a compatible clear coat such as Spaz Stix SZX90109.

Important Notes

  • Purple Fluorescent is translucent and requires Spaz Stix Solid White Backer (SZX00200 or SZX00209) to achieve maximum brightness.
  • Apply several light, even coats to gradually build colour intensity.
  • Avoid applying heavy coats, as they may cause runs, cracking or an uneven finish.
  • For polycarbonate RC bodies, apply the paint to the inside of the body before applying the Solid White Backer.
  • For external applications, apply the Solid White Backer first, followed by the Fluorescent Purple, then protect the finish with a compatible clear coat such as Spaz Stix SZX90109.
  • Always test compatibility before applying to materials other than polycarbonate.
  • Use in a well-ventilated area and follow all safety instructions supplied with the product.
