Spaz Stix SZX10039 Red Mirror Chrome is an enamel-based aerosol paint designed to create a reflective red chrome effect on clear polycarbonate RC car and truck bodies. For internal polycarbonate applications, the paint is sprayed inside the clear body and must be backed with Spaz Stix Ultimate Black Backer for Mirror Chrome to develop the intended finish and durability.

Does Spaz Stix Red Mirror Chrome need to be backed? Yes. For an internal clear polycarbonate body application, Spaz Stix states that Red Mirror Chrome must be backed with Ultimate Black Backer for Mirror Chrome SZX10200 or SZX10209. Without the required backing, the chrome paint has little durability and can wipe away easily.

How is Red Mirror Chrome applied to a clear RC body? SZX10039 is applied to the inside of a clear polycarbonate RC body so the red chrome effect is viewed through the clear plastic. After the chrome layer is applied correctly, it must be backed with the specified Ultimate Black Backer.

Can SZX10039 be used on the outside of an RC body? Yes, but Spaz Stix specifies a different process. For external applications or surfaces other than polycarbonate, apply the Red Mirror Chrome over Ultimate Black Backer and then seal it with Ultimate Clear Coat SZX10900 or SZX10909.

How should clear coat be applied over Red Mirror Chrome? For external applications, Spaz Stix recommends applying the Ultimate Clear Coat in very light coats with ample drying time between coats. Applying too much clear coat at once can dull the chrome effect.

Will an external application look as reflective as paint applied inside clear polycarbonate? Not necessarily. Spaz Stix advises that achieving the full reflective qualities of Red Mirror Chrome is difficult with an external application.

Should I test Red Mirror Chrome before painting the finished body? Yes. Spaz Stix specifically recommends practising the complete paint and backing process on a scrap piece before proceeding with the final project.

• Unbacked Mirror Chrome has very little durability and may wipe away easily
