FAQ

Is the Tamiya Scania 770 S ready to run? No. This is an unassembled RC model kit that requires construction, painting, radio equipment, two servos, a speed controller or MFC unit, battery and charger.

Does the kit include a motor? Yes. A Type 540 brushed motor is included.

Does it include an electronic speed controller? No. A compatible brushed ESC or Tamiya truck Multi-Function Control Unit is required separately.

Are both rear axles driven? Yes. Power is transferred through the three-speed transmission to both rear axles, with each rear axle using its own differential.

Do both front axles steer? Yes. A single steering servo operates both front axles, with different steering angles reproduced to provide more realistic cornering.

Is the second axle powered? No. The second axle is a steering lift axle. It can be manually raised or lowered using the chassis mechanism.

Can the lift axle be operated from the transmitter? The standard kit uses a manually operated lift-axle mechanism. Remote operation is not included.

Can the gearbox be shifted from the transmitter? Yes. A compatible radio system and separate shift servo allow the three-speed transmission to be changed remotely.

Does the truck require a four-channel radio? A suitable multi-channel radio is required to control steering, throttle and gear shifting. Additional channels may be useful when installing optional lighting or multifunction equipment.

Can a LiPo battery be used? Use only a battery that fits the truck and is compatible with the selected ESC or MFC unit. Do not assume every 2S LiPo is suitable; check voltage limits, dimensions, connector type and low-voltage protection before use.

Does the body come painted? No. This standard 56371 edition requires painting. The completed truck shown in promotional images has been assembled and painted for display.

Can it pull a Tamiya trailer? Yes. The included fifth-wheel coupler is designed for compatible Tamiya 1/14 scale semi-trailers.

What does the optional MFC-03 add? The Tamiya MFC-03 can add synchronised engine sounds, lighting, vibration and additional operating effects for greater realism.
