FAQ

Is the King Hauler ready to run? No. This is a comprehensive assembly kit requiring full mechanical and electronic assembly before operation.

Does this kit include an ESC? No. The King Hauler requires either a compatible brushed ESC or the optional Tamiya MFC-01 Multi-Function Control Unit, which combines ESC, realistic engine sounds, lighting and vibration.

What radio do I need? A minimum 4-channel radio system is recommended because separate channels are required for steering, throttle and the three-speed transmission.

Does the truck really have three gears? Yes. The manual three-speed transmission is shifted by a dedicated servo and allows realistic low, medium and high gear selection while driving.

Can it tow trailers? Yes. The King Hauler is designed to work with compatible Tamiya 1/14 scale semi-trailers using the standard fifth-wheel coupling.

What does the Multi-Function Control Unit add? The optional MFC-01 adds electronic speed control together with realistic diesel engine sounds, lighting, indicators, brake lights, reversing lights, air-brake sounds, horn and vibration effects.

Is the body pre-painted? No. The white injection-moulded body requires painting and decal application during assembly.

Which paint should I use? Use paint suitable for hard plastic model parts, such as Tamiya TS spray paint. Polycarbonate PS paints are not suitable for this hard-plastic body.

Can I use a LiPo battery? Yes, provided the selected ESC or Multi-Function Control Unit supports LiPo batteries and has suitable low-voltage protection.

Are ball bearings included? No. The standard kit uses Oilite bushings. Full ball-bearing sets are a popular upgrade that can improve drivetrain efficiency and longevity.

Is this suitable for beginners? The King Hauler is best suited to intermediate and experienced builders due to its size, detailed assembly and multi-servo transmission system. A first-time builder can certainly complete it with patience and by carefully following the instruction manual.
