The limited-edition Tamiya Toyota Supra JZA80 recreates the legendary fourth-generation Japanese sports car on the versatile 1/10 scale BT-01 chassis. Its lightweight polycarbonate body is factory painted in Metallic Blue using Tamiya PS-16, with the wheel arches pre-cut and body-mount holes already prepared to make assembly easier for new and experienced RC builders.

The beginner-friendly BT-01 chassis features a modular two-wheel-drive layout that can be configured for front-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive. For the Toyota Supra, the recommended setup is the 257mm-wheelbase mid-motor rear-wheel-drive configuration, while an alternative front-motor rear-wheel-drive layout more closely resembles the drivetrain arrangement of the full-size JZA80 Supra.

FAQ

Is this Toyota Supra ready to run? No. This is an RC assembly kit. The chassis must be built and a radio system, steering servo, battery and charger are required separately.

Is the body already painted? Yes. The polycarbonate body is factory painted in Tamiya PS-16 Metallic Blue.

Are the wheel arches and body holes already prepared? Yes. The wheel arches are pre-cut and the body-mount holes are pre-made, reducing the amount of body preparation required.

Does the kit include a motor and ESC? Yes. A Type 540 brushed motor and compatible brushed electronic speed controller are included.

Is the BT-01 chassis front-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive? The chassis can be assembled in several front- or rear-wheel-drive configurations. The recommended arrangement for this Supra is the 257mm-wheelbase mid-motor rear-wheel-drive setup.

Can the drivetrain layout be changed later? Yes. The modular chassis allows the final-drive units and steering linkage to be rearranged without relocating the centrally mounted battery and RC equipment. Partial chassis disassembly and setup changes are still required.

Which battery should I use? Use a compatible 7.2V NiMH or 7.4V hard-case battery that physically fits the BT-01 battery compartment and is suitable for the supplied ESC connector and specifications.
