Will the Traxxas 6486X fit a 5mm motor shaft? Yes. The pinion has a 5mm bore and is designed for compatible motors with a 5mm output shaft. The vehicle must also use a suitable 1.0 Mod steel spur gear and have sufficient adjustment for correct gear mesh.

Can the Traxxas 6486X be used with a plastic spur gear? No. Traxxas specifies this pinion for use with steel spur gears only. OZRC recommends following the vehicle's official gearing recommendations rather than pairing it with an unsupported plastic spur gear.

Will a 13T pinion increase acceleration or top speed? Compared with a larger pinion on the same spur gear, a 13T pinion generally provides lower gearing, improving wheel torque and acceleration while reducing theoretical top speed. Actual performance depends on the complete drivetrain, motor and battery setup.
