Take on technical climbs, rocky trails and muddy tracks with the Traxxas TRX-4 2021 Ford Bronco. This ready-to-run 1/10 scale RC trail truck combines an officially licensed Bronco body with the proven capability of the full-feature TRX-4 platform.
The highly detailed red Bronco body features a concealed clipless mounting system, clear windows, moulded scale accessories and replica black wheels. Underneath, the steel ladder-frame chassis uses portal axles, remotely locking front and rear differentials and a transmitter-operated two-speed transmission for adaptable performance across changing terrain.
A waterproof XL-5 HV electronic speed controller and Titan 550 21-turn brushed motor provide smooth low-speed control and dependable trail power. The included TQi four-channel radio operates the steering, throttle, transmission and differential locks, while cruise control helps maintain a steady pace during longer trail sessions.

FAQ
Is the Traxxas TRX-4 Bronco ready to run? Yes. The truck is fully assembled with the motor, ESC, receiver and servos installed. A suitable drive battery, charger and four AA transmitter batteries are required before use.
Does the 92076-4 include a battery and charger? No. Neither the drive battery nor charger is included.
What battery can the TRX-4 Bronco use? The XL-5 HV ESC supports compatible 4-cell to 7-cell NiMH packs and 2S or 3S LiPo packs. The battery must fit securely in the tray and use a compatible Traxxas connector.
Is 2S or 3S LiPo better for trail driving? A 2S LiPo provides smoother throttle response and manageable wheel speed for relaxed trail driving. A 3S LiPo provides more speed and stronger power delivery but requires greater throttle control on technical terrain.
Can a NiMH battery be used? Yes. The XL-5 HV supports compatible 4-cell to 7-cell NiMH battery packs. Ensure the ESC is set to NiMH mode before operation.
Does it use a brushed or brushless motor? The standard truck uses a Titan 550 21-turn brushed motor and an XL-5 HV brushed electronic speed controller.
What is a reverse-rotation motor? The Titan motor is timed to rotate in the direction required by the TRX-4 drivetrain. When replacing the motor, use a compatible reverse-rotation unit or follow the motor manufacturer's timing instructions.
Can the transmission be shifted while driving? Yes. High and low range can be selected from the transmitter. Reduce throttle and drivetrain load before shifting to help the gears engage cleanly.
Can the front and rear differentials be locked separately? Yes. The T-Lock system allows the truck to run with the differentials open, with the front locked, or with both front and rear locked.
When should the differentials be unlocked? Open differentials provide smoother steering and a tighter turning circle on firm ground. Locking the differentials increases traction on loose, steep or uneven terrain.
What are portal axles? Portal axles position the axle housings above the wheel centres and use reduction gears at the hubs. This increases ground clearance while also reducing torque load through the rest of the drivetrain.
Does the transmitter include cruise control? Yes. The TQi transmitter's multi-function control can maintain a selected trail speed, allowing the driver to concentrate on steering.
Does the truck include Traxxas Stability Management? Yes. TSM assistance can be adjusted from the transmitter to suit the surface and driving style.
Is the Bronco body clipless? Yes. A concealed latch system secures the body without visible body clips. The body can be removed for battery access and maintenance.
Is the TRX-4 Bronco waterproof? The installed ESC, receiver box and servos are designed for operation in wet conditions. The truck must still be cleaned, dried and lubricated after exposure to water, mud or salt.
Can it be completely submerged? No. Waterproof electronics do not make the complete vehicle maintenance-free or suitable for prolonged submersion. Avoid deep water that may enter the tyres, transmission, axle housings or receiver box.
Are the tyres glued to the wheels? The standard Canyon Trail tyres are factory mounted. Inspect the tyre beads periodically, particularly after wet driving or high-load crawling.
Can aftermarket 1.9-inch wheels be fitted? Many 1.9-inch crawler wheels using 12mm hexes can fit, but offset, internal clearance, tyre diameter and portal-hub clearance must be checked before purchase.
Does it include LED lights? A full operational lighting system is not included as standard. A compatible Traxxas Pro Scale LED kit is available separately.
Is the TRX-4 suitable for beginners? Yes. It arrives assembled and the included driving aids make it accessible to new drivers. Beginners should start in low range with open differentials and use smooth throttle inputs.
Is this a competition rock crawler? The TRX-4 is primarily a scale trail truck and recreational crawler. It offers strong technical-terrain capability but is heavier and more scale-focused than a purpose-built competition crawler.
What maintenance is required after driving in mud or water? Remove the battery, clean the chassis, dry the bearings and metal components, inspect the receiver box and apply suitable lubricant or corrosion protection where required.
Why is a servo humming after locking a differential? Continuous loud humming may indicate that the shift cable or servo linkage is binding. Stop using the function and inspect the cable adjustment to avoid damaging the micro servo.
Important Notes
- The drive battery, battery charger and four AA transmitter batteries are not included.
- Confirm battery dimensions, connector type and voltage before ordering.
- The XL-5 HV ESC must be set to the correct NiMH or LiPo battery mode.
- Low-voltage detection must be enabled whenever a LiPo battery is used.
- Never charge a LiPo battery using a NiMH charging program.
- Use a compatible balance charger and follow the battery manufacturer's charging limits.
- Never charge a damaged, swollen, hot or punctured LiPo battery.
- Charge batteries on a non-flammable surface and do not leave them unattended.
- Reduce throttle load before shifting between high and low range.
- Do not manually force the transmission or differential-locking mechanisms.
- Check the transmission and differential servos for smooth operation without binding.
- Waterproof electronics still require cleaning and maintenance after wet use.
- Dry and lubricate bearings, fasteners and metal drivetrain parts after exposure to water.
- Avoid salt water because it can rapidly corrode bearings, hardware and electrical connections.
- Optional batteries, chargers, lights and accessories shown in promotional images are sold separately.
