The Traxxas XRT is a large-scale 1/6 brushless 4WD RC X-Truck designed for experienced drivers wanting high-speed handling, wide-track stability and durable off-road performance.

The XRT combines a low-centre-of-gravity chassis with the Velineon VXL-8s power system, an ultra-wide stance and a low-profile clipless body. This performance-focused layout provides more responsive cornering and greater high-speed stability than a conventional tall monster truck while retaining a heavy-duty driveline suitable for large-scale bashing.

The factory-installed Velineon 1200XL brushless motor and VXL-8s electronic speed controller operate with two matching 3S or two matching 4S LiPo batteries. Two 3S batteries provide reduced 6S performance, while two 4S batteries unlock the complete 8S system and the vehicle’s maximum advertised performance.

FAQ

Does the Traxxas XRT include batteries and a charger? No. The XRT requires two matching 3S or two matching 4S LiPo batteries, a compatible balance charger and four AA transmitter batteries.

Can the XRT run on two 3S batteries? Yes. Two matching 3S LiPo batteries operate the XRT on 6S for reduced speed and acceleration. Two matching 4S batteries are required for full 8S performance.

What is required for the advertised 60+mph speed? The 60+mph claim requires two suitable 4S LiPo batteries, the included optional gearing and appropriate running conditions. Optional gearing increases heat and is intended for controlled high-speed use rather than continuous off-road driving.

Is the Traxxas XRT suitable for beginners? The XRT is a large and heavy Skill Level 5 vehicle capable of very high speed. OZRC recommends it for experienced operators with a large, controlled driving area rather than as a first RC vehicle.
