FAQ
Is the Zenoah G270RC a 25.4cc or 26cc engine? Its measured displacement is 25.4cc. It is commonly marketed and raced within the 26cc engine class.
What is the benefit of the four-bolt cylinder? The four-bolt design provides more even cylinder clamping than an older two-bolt arrangement, helping improve sealing and reduce the chance of cylinder-base gasket failure.
Does the Walbro WT-990 have a choke? No. The WT-990 is a performance carburettor without an internal choke plate. Removing the choke restriction improves airflow, although cold-starting may require priming and an appropriate starting technique.
Will this engine bolt directly into an HPI Baja? The engine suits compatible HPI Baja platforms, but some installations may require a shorter clutch spacer or associated mounting components. Compatible examples include HPI 102164, 87458 and 87571. Check the existing vehicle setup before installation.
What is required for installation in a Losi 5IVE-T or DBXL? These vehicles may require reuse of the original clutch mount and flywheel-cover components. Installation parts can vary by vehicle version, so compare the original engine hardware before ordering.
Are the air filter and exhaust included? An air filter and exhaust system are not listed as included and should be transferred from the vehicle or purchased separately as required.
Important Notes
- Use only correctly mixed two-stroke petrol fuel. Never operate the engine on unmixed petrol.
- Follow the oil manufacturer's ratio recommendations and any applicable engine break-in procedure.
- The WT-990 carburettor does not have an internal choke.
- HPI Baja installations may require a shorter clutch spacer depending on the existing clutch arrangement.
- Losi and TLR installations may require vehicle-specific clutch mounts, flywheel covers or reused original components.
- Confirm engine-mount, clutch, flywheel-cover, exhaust and air-filter compatibility before ordering.
- Final carburettor tuning must be completed after installation to suit the fuel, exhaust, air filter, weather and operating altitude.
- Do not run the engine with an excessively lean carburettor setting, as this may cause overheating and internal damage.
