FAQ

Is the ARRMA TLR Tuned TYPHON fully ready to run? The buggy is factory assembled with its motor, ESC, receiver, steering servo and radio system installed. Four AA transmitter batteries are included, but a compatible 4S or 6S LiPo drive battery and charger are required separately.

Is this a dedicated competition race buggy? It is a race-capable RTR buggy with extensive TLR Tuned setup features, but serious competition use may require tyres, fluids, springs, gearing and suspension settings matched to your local track and class rules.

Should I use 4S or 6S for racing? A 4S LiPo is generally the more suitable starting point for track driving because it provides strong performance with more manageable acceleration. Confirm the permitted battery voltage with your local racing club before entering an event.

Can the TLR Tuned TYPHON be used for bashing? Yes. Its durable drivetrain, aluminium chassis and 6S-capable electronics make it suitable for high-performance off-road bashing as well as track use.

How fast can ARA8406 go? ARRMA rates the buggy for speeds above 70mph or 112km/h under optimum conditions. Actual speed depends on battery performance, gearing, surface, tyres and vehicle setup.

What TLR Tuned parts are included? TLR Tuned upgrades include the 7075-T6 chassis, shock towers, steering rack, adjustable suspension hangers and aluminium shock bodies, along with precision shock components and additional setup capability.

Are the shocks adjustable? Yes. The oil-filled TLR Tuned shocks use threaded aluminium bodies, machined tapered pistons, machined guides and X-ring seals. Spring preload, oil, pistons and mounting positions can be adjusted to suit the track or terrain.

Does it include Smart telemetry? The installed Firma 150A ESC supports Spektrum Smart technology. Displayed telemetry may require a compatible Smart battery and a telemetry-capable Spektrum transmitter.

What tyres are supplied? The buggy includes dBoots EXABYTE multi-terrain race-compound tyres. Dedicated track tyres may provide better performance depending on the track surface and preparation.

Are the electronics waterproof? The ESC and steering servo are designed for wet operating conditions. The complete vehicle is not waterproof and should not be submerged.

Is this suitable for a beginner? It is best suited to intermediate or experienced drivers due to its speed and extensive tuning options. Newer drivers should begin on 4S power in a large, clear area and use conservative throttle inputs.
