The Futaba 6K is an 8-channel 2.4GHz Mode 2 stick transmitter and R3006SB receiver package designed for RC aeroplanes, helicopters, gliders and compatible multirotors, providing T-FHSS Air telemetry, S.BUS control and programmable flight functions for reliable aircraft setup and operation.

Features

  • 8-Channel Aircraft Radio: Provides up to eight control channels using compatible S.BUS equipment, with six conventional PWM outputs available on the supplied R3006SB receiver.
  • Mode 2 Stick Configuration: Features the throttle and rudder on the left stick, with elevator and aileron control on the right stick.
  • T-FHSS Air 2.4GHz Transmission: Futaba's frequency-hopping aircraft radio system supports bidirectional communication and compatible telemetry functions.
  • Switchable S-FHSS Operation: The transmitter can also operate with supported Futaba S-FHSS receivers. Telemetry is unavailable in S-FHSS mode.
  • R3006SB Receiver Included: Features six conventional channel outputs, S.BUS support, S.BUS2 telemetry connectivity and dual aerial diversity reception.
  • Flight Telemetry: Displays receiver battery voltage and supports optional sensors for altitude, temperature, RPM, external voltage, current and other flight information.
  • Telemetry Speech Function: Compatible telemetry information can be heard using suitable earphones connected to the transmitter.
  • 30-Model Memory: Stores separate aircraft setups, making the radio suitable for hobbyists operating multiple models.
  • Aircraft Programming: Supports aeroplane, helicopter, glider and multicopter configurations with dedicated mixing functions.
  • Helicopter Swashplate Mixing: Provides selectable swashplate configurations for compatible helicopter control systems.
  • Programmable Auxiliary Channels: Channels 5–8 can be assigned to suitable switches, controls and programmable mixes.
  • S.BUS Servo Programming: Supports channel assignment and configuration of compatible Futaba S.BUS and S.BUS2 servos through the transmitter.
  • Digital Trim System: Electronic trims feature adjustable increments, audible centre indication and an LCD position display.
  • Adjustable Control Sticks: Stick lengths can be adjusted to suit different pilot preferences.
  • Built-In Transmitter Aerial: Integrated aerial design reduces protruding components during handling and transport.
  • Vibration Alerts: Transmitter vibration provides feedback for supported alarm conditions.
  • Wireless Model Data Transfer: Allows compatible model settings to be transferred between Futaba 6K transmitters.
  • Flexible Transmitter Power: Supports four AA alkaline batteries or compatible Futaba rechargeable transmitter battery packs.

FAQ

Is the Futaba 6K an 8-channel or 6-channel radio? The Futaba 6K supports up to eight control channels through compatible S.BUS equipment. The included R3006SB receiver provides six conventional PWM outputs, so additional compatible S.BUS equipment is needed to use the extra channels.

What does Mode 2 mean on the Futaba 6K? Mode 2 places the throttle and rudder controls on the left stick, with elevator and aileron controls on the right stick. This is a common aircraft transmitter configuration used in Australia.

Can the Futaba 6K use S-FHSS receivers? Yes. The Futaba 6K can be switched from T-FHSS Air to S-FHSS for compatible receivers. Telemetry functions are unavailable in S-FHSS mode. The included R3006SB receiver requires T-FHSS Air operation.

Does the Futaba 6K include everything needed to fly an RC aeroplane? No. The package provides the transmitter, receiver and listed radio accessories. Compatible servos, a receiver power supply or ESC with suitable BEC, flight battery and other aircraft equipment may be required depending on the model.

Important Notes

  • The included R3006SB receiver uses Futaba T-FHSS Air. It is not compatible with T-FHSS Surface, FASST, FASSTest or other unsupported radio systems.
  • Eight-channel operation requires suitable S.BUS equipment. Six conventional PWM receiver channels are available without S.BUS expansion.
  • Only connect compatible S.BUS2 devices and telemetry sensors to the receiver's S.BUS2 port. Standard S.BUS servos and gyros must not be connected directly to the S.BUS2 telemetry port.
  • Use a suitable rechargeable receiver battery or regulated power supply. Do not power the receiver directly using ordinary dry-cell batteries.
  • Check the receiver power supply and connected servo voltage ratings before installation.
  • Optional telemetry sensors, aircraft servos, flight batteries, charger and aircraft are not included.
  • Transmitter battery and charger inclusion varies between retailer bundles. Confirm the accessories supplied with this specific package before purchasing.
  • Always perform receiver binding, control direction checks, failsafe setup and a radio range check before flight.
