The Futaba R334SBS is a 4-channel 2.4GHz surface receiver designed for compatible Futaba T-FHSS and T-FHSS SR radio systems, providing precise steering and throttle control with Super Response operation and S.BUS2 telemetry support for RC cars.

Features

  • Futaba T-FHSS SR Compatibility: Supports Futaba's Super Response transmission system for high-speed radio control with compatible transmitters and servos.
  • Dual Radio Modes: Operates with compatible T-FHSS and T-FHSS SR transmitters, allowing drivers to select between telemetry operation and Super Response control.
  • 4-Channel Receiver: Provides four conventional control channels for steering, throttle and compatible auxiliary equipment.
  • S.BUS2 Telemetry Support: Allows compatible Futaba telemetry sensors to transmit vehicle operating information to the transmitter in T-FHSS mode.
  • Super Response Servo Operation: Supports faster control response when connected to compatible Futaba SR servos on channels configured for SR operation.
  • Per-Channel SR Configuration: Compatible transmitters allow SR mode to be enabled or disabled for individual channels, providing flexibility for different servo and ESC combinations.
  • Normal and High-Speed T-FHSS Modes: Supports analogue and digital servos in Normal mode, with High-Speed mode available for suitable digital servos.
  • Diversity Aerial System: Combines an external aerial with an internal aerial for radio signal reception.
  • Compact Construction: Measures 33.9 x 22.3 x 11.3mm for installation in compatible RC chassis and receiver boxes.
  • Lightweight Design: Weighs approximately 7.5g for racing and recreational RC applications.
  • High-Voltage Receiver Support: Operates from a suitable 3.7–7.4V DC power supply.
  • Integrated Link Button: Allows pairing with a compatible Futaba transmitter.
  • LED Status Indicator: Provides visual feedback for radio signal reception and receiver operation.
  • Failsafe Functions: Supports failsafe and battery failsafe settings through a compatible transmitter.

FAQ

Which Futaba transmitters are compatible with the R334SBS? The Futaba R334SBS works with compatible Futaba transmitters supporting T-FHSS or T-FHSS SR surface radio modes. It does not support S-FHSS, FHSS, FASST, FASSTest, F-4G or T-FHSS Air. OZRC recommends checking the transmitter's available radio modes before purchasing.

Does the Futaba R334SBS support telemetry in Super Response mode? No. The R334SBS supports telemetry through its S.BUS2 connection in T-FHSS mode. Telemetry and S.BUS2 operation are unavailable in T-FHSS SR mode.

Can I use normal servos with the Futaba R334SBS? Yes. Compatible analogue and digital servos can be used in T-FHSS Normal mode. T-FHSS High-Speed mode requires suitable digital servos, while channels enabled for SR operation require compatible Futaba SR servos. Incorrect mode selection may damage the servo.

What is the difference between the R334SBS and R334SBS-E receivers? Both support T-FHSS and T-FHSS SR operation. The R334SBS has an external and internal diversity aerial arrangement, while the R334SBS-E uses a compact internal aerial design and is specifically restricted to electric RC cars.

Important Notes

  • The R334SBS is compatible with T-FHSS and T-FHSS SR radio modes only. It is not universally compatible with Futaba 2.4GHz transmitters.
  • Use only compatible SR servos on channels enabled for SR operation. Normal servos may be used on channels with SR mode disabled, subject to the selected operating mode.
  • Do not connect analogue servos to channels operating in T-FHSS High-Speed mode.
  • Telemetry sensors and the S.BUS2 port cannot be used while operating in T-FHSS SR mode.
  • Changing between T-FHSS and T-FHSS SR requires selecting the new transmitter mode and linking the receiver again.
  • The receiver operates from 3.7–7.4V DC. Connected servos and electronics must also support the selected voltage.
  • Futaba advises against using ordinary dry-cell batteries directly as the receiver power supply.
  • The receiver is not waterproof. Protect it from moisture, excessive vibration and impact.
  • Do not cut or bundle the external aerial wire, and avoid placing conductive materials over the internal aerial area.
  • After linking, cycle the receiver power and confirm correct steering, throttle and failsafe operation before driving.
  • Transmitter, servos, ESC, power supply and optional telemetry sensors are not included.
