FAQ

Which ESCs are compatible with the Hobbywing EzRun 5690SD G2? Hobbywing lists the EzRun MAX6 G2 and MAX5 HV G2 as compatible ESC options. The motor has factory-installed 6.5mm bullet connectors, while the MAX5 HV G2 requires the included 8mm connectors to be fitted. Confirm sensor cable and ESC compatibility before installation.

Can this motor run on an 8S LiPo battery? Yes. Hobbywing rates the 5690SD G2 1250KV motor for 3S–8S LiPo operation with a compatible ESC. The motor's maximum supported rotational speed is 43,000 RPM, so appropriate battery voltage and gearing are essential.

Will the Hobbywing 5690SD G2 fit an ARRMA Kraton 8S or Outcast 8S? Hobbywing lists both models as example applications. However, installation depends on the exact vehicle version, motor mount clearance, 8mm pinion compatibility, motor wiring and selected gearing. OZRC recommends checking these details before purchasing.

What is the difference between the 5690SD G2 and the 4990SD G2? The 5690SD G2 is a larger 56mm diameter, 1250KV motor with an 8mm shaft, intended for 1/5 and 1/6 scale applications. The 4990SD G2 is a 49mm diameter, 1650KV motor with a 5mm shaft, intended for selected 1/7 and 1/8 scale vehicles.

Important Notes

  • This product is a brushless motor only. An ESC, battery, charger and RC vehicle are not included.
  • The motor uses an 8mm output shaft. A compatible 8mm-bore pinion gear is required.
  • Factory-fitted motor power connectors are 6.5mm male bullet connectors. The MAX5 HV G2 requires fitting the supplied alternative 8mm connectors.
  • Verify ESC current capability, sensor cable connection, motor mount dimensions and gearing before installation.
  • Hobbywing specifies a maximum rotational speed of 43,000 RPM for the 5690SD G2. Do not exceed this limit.
  • Hobbywing recommends keeping motor operating temperature below 100°C. Check temperatures after changing gearing or battery voltage.
  • The IP67 rating applies to the motor under manufacturer-specified conditions. It does not make the entire RC vehicle waterproof.
  • Vehicle examples are not a guarantee of direct bolt-in fitment. Motor mounting, space, shaft size and driveline setup may require changes.
  • Use suitable soldering equipment and electrical insulation when replacing motor bullet connectors.
