FAQ

Is the Prime RC Mini S Cub ready to fly? Yes. It is supplied as a ready-to-fly package with the assembled aircraft, transmitter, flight battery, USB charging lead and AA transmitter batteries.

Is this suitable as a first RC aircraft? Yes. The lightweight trainer layout and selectable gyro assistance make it suitable for beginners. New pilots should still fly in calm conditions and use a large, clear area for initial flights.

What is Mode 2? Mode 2 places throttle and rudder on the left transmitter stick, with aileron and elevator on the right stick. This is the most commonly used transmitter layout in Australia.

How do the three flight modes work? Beginner mode provides the highest level of gyro assistance, Intermediate mode reduces the assistance and Experienced mode allows more direct manual control. This lets the pilot reduce electronic support as skills improve.

Does the gyro fly the aircraft automatically? No. The gyro helps stabilise the aircraft, but the pilot must still control direction, altitude, speed, take-off and landing.

Does it have working ailerons? Yes. The Mini S Cub provides four-channel control through the ailerons, elevator, rudder and throttle.

Can it perform aerobatics? Yes. In an appropriate flight mode and with sufficient altitude, the aircraft can perform manoeuvres including rolls, loops and inverted flight.

Can it be flown at a local park? Its compact size and slow-flying characteristics make it suitable for relatively small open flying areas. The site must still provide sufficient unobstructed space and comply with local flying regulations.

Can it be flown indoors? It may be flown indoors only in a large, unobstructed venue such as a sports hall. It is not suitable for normal household rooms.

How much wind can it handle? As a lightweight 75g aircraft, it is best flown in calm or very light wind. Stronger wind may overpower the model or carry it beyond the flying area.

How long does the battery last? The estimated flight time is approximately 12–15 minutes. Actual runtime varies with throttle use, wind, battery condition and flying style.

Can extra batteries be used? Yes, provided the replacement battery matches the required voltage, connector, dimensions and weight. A battery that is too heavy can alter the aircraft's centre of gravity and handling.

Does it have flaps? No. The Mini S Cub does not have functional flaps.
