FAQ

Is the Prime RC T1400 completely ready to fly? It is supplied as an RTF package with the aircraft electronics, transmitter, flight battery and charger. Minor final assembly and pre-flight setup are still required before the first flight.

What assembly is required? Typical final assembly includes fitting the wing and tail components, connecting the control linkages and installing the propeller or other removable parts as directed in the manual. Always complete a full control and balance check after assembly.

Is this a six-channel aircraft? The included transmitter has six channels, but the aircraft uses four primary controls: aileron, elevator, rudder and throttle. It does not have functional flaps in the standard configuration.

What is Mode 2? Mode 2 places throttle and rudder on the left transmitter stick, with aileron and elevator on the right stick. It is the most commonly used control layout in Australia.

Can the transmitter be changed to Mode 1? Retailer documentation describes the supplied radio as mode-changeable. Follow the transmitter instructions carefully before altering the stick configuration.

Is the T1400 suitable for a beginner? Its high-wing layout, 1.4m wingspan and gliding characteristics make it suitable for learning four-channel flight. A beginner should still receive help from an experienced pilot or RC flying club for assembly checks, trimming, launching and the first flight.

Does the T1400 have gyro stabilisation? No gyro or electronic flight-assistance system is confirmed in the standard PMQTOP100E specification. The model relies on its conventional airframe stability and pilot control.

Is this the same as a Bixler? No. The T1400 is a separate Prime RC model, but its high-wing EPO construction and rear pusher motor give it a similar powered-glider role.

What is the advantage of a pusher propeller? The rear-mounted propeller keeps the nose clear for hand launching and protects the propeller during many belly landings. Keep hands, clothing and loose objects clear of the propeller whenever the battery is connected.

Can it take off from the ground? The smooth underside may allow a rise-off-ground launch from very short, smooth grass or another suitable surface. Hand launching is generally more reliable where the ground is uneven or the grass is long.

How should the model be hand launched? Launch directly into the wind with the wings level and use a firm, level push. Do not throw it sharply upwards, as excessive launch angle can cause a stall before the aircraft gains airspeed.

Can it thermal soar? The T1400 can be flown with the motor reduced or switched off to search for rising air. Soaring performance depends on weather, aircraft setup, weight and pilot technique.

Does it have flaps? No. The standard T1400 has ailerons but does not include functional flaps.

Can a larger battery be installed? The battery compartment is described as spacious, but any alternative battery must have the correct voltage, connector, dimensions, discharge capability and weight. A heavier battery can move the centre of gravity and adversely affect handling.

How long will it fly? No verified flight-time figure is published for this package. Runtime varies considerably with throttle use, wind, soaring conditions, battery health and flying style.

Is it suitable for FPV equipment? The airframe style may suit lightweight FPV equipment, but FPV hardware is not included. Additional equipment changes the weight and centre of gravity and must be installed without exceeding safe operating limits or applicable aviation rules.
